Following the scenic lane down to the village through the magnificent olive groves one will reach within a few minutes the beach, which offers excellent swimming, fishing and snorkeling with taverns open all year round.

The village is 5km from the bustling fishing village of Kolimbari and the southernmost village on the Rodopou Peninsular, west of Chania. The village is a few hundred feet above the sea and downhill are some excellent taverns and a small harbour. All amenities can be found in Kolimbari including a bank, bakery, supermarket, butcher, petrol station, post office, greengrocer and a host of popular taverns by the sea. There is also a regular bus service into the cosmopolitan city of Chania. To the east there is also the town of Kissamos where even more amenities are available including a medical centre and access to some of the most unique and protected beaches in Crete such as the one of Elafonissi and Falasserna.
