The village is easily accessible from the main road, while tavernas, bakeries & super-markets are close by.
One of the three Byzantine castles within the prefecture of Chania is located, wonderfully preserved, in the village and has been identified by the Greek Archaeological Service as a historic treasure of great importance, together with three Byzantine churches, ornamented with frescos of great artistic value.
Following one of the many paths crossing the village, one has the chance to admire the deep gorges and wild flora & fauna creating a setting of unique natural beauty.
